Selsey All weather lifeboat was requested to launch at this morning, to a report of a person in the water at Bognor, as the Lifeboat was leaving the boathouse to launch Solent Coastguard cancelled the launch, as the police confirmed the person was clear of the water and with Police. Selsey Lifeboat Station like most other stations only has two paid members of staff, the Coxswain and the Mechanic all the rest including Boat and Shore crews are all volunteers and we rely on the work of our volunteer fundraisers and Supporters like yourself to allow us to continue saving lives at sea/ TripAdvisor reviews.

  Since then, Selsey lifeboats have launched from the current boathouse times and assisted in excess of people. During the 57 years three different classes of lifeboats have operated from there too. My wife Carole born in Selsey her family go back to she grew up with the Lifeboats and Station, i have known it for 41 years having moved here her Dad help build the sea wall at East Beach last Launch ever from the Station off shore is 1st April 11am Saturday demolition starts on the 10th April will be a sad day. The RNLI is hoping a new lifeboat station in Selsey will soon become a reality after submitting a planning application to Chichester District Council on Friday (30 Jan). The charity needs to build a new lifeboat station in the seaside town in order to house their new Shannon class lifeboat.
